G’day,
Welcome to my Teacher/Parent page
The Blake E Mysteries lend themselves to a variety of classroom activities. It is my intention to provide ideas and downloads which could be used in the junior school as educational learning experiences.
THE DOMINO CAPER, THE ALPHABET CAPER and the BILLY-BUCK CAPER are available in digital format from Amazon. However, as the Kindle application is now available on so many digital devices, these books could be made available to a group or class of students.
The cost need not be prohibitive. At present, as a Kindle Direct Publishing author, I have the option of providing my books as free downloads on days of my choosing. If any teacher was interested in obtaining the stories at no cost, then each student, with their Kindle app, could download the books aided by the school’s internet and wifi capabilities. All that is needed is to pre-arrange a day when my Blake Ebooks are free.

The BARTER’S BACK WALL POSTERS
Mrs Barter’s back wall posters form a grid of squares. This PDF is a set of questions which relate to skills introduced in early/middle primary school—ages 8 to 9. The following extract is from an Australian Syllabus.
OUTCOMES: “Uses simple maps and grids to represent position and follow routes, including using compass directions”
CONTENT: “Use grid references on maps to describe position, eg ‘The lion cage is at B3’”
BACKGROUND: “By convention when using grid-reference systems, such as those found on maps, the horizontal component of direction is named first, followed by the vertical component. This is a precursor to introducing coordinates on the Cartesian plane in Stage 3 Patterns and Algebra, where the horizontal coordinate is recorded first, followed by the vertical coordinate.”
NEOLOGISMS
The activities on this PDF could relate to the area of “Thinking imaginatively and creatively” as stated in an Australian Syllabus.
DID YOU KNOW? . . . and if YOU DIDN’T, CAN YOU FIND OUT?
This PDF is a list of questions relating to content in “The Domino Caper” which may be new to children. The questions encourage a full understanding of the text and characters.

PANGRAMS
Pangrams are sentences that contain every letter of the alphabet. They fun to read and excellent handwriting practice.
